Art Director/Graphic Designer, KD
Born in 1976 in Hokkaido, Japan. After graduating from Hokkaido Tokai University (currently Tokai University) and Hokkaido College of Art & Design, Junya currently presides at KD.
Working not only on projects based in Hokkaido, but also on nation-wide branding such as confectionary shop "Kinotoya", "Matsuo Genghis Khan", and "Tomoe Fukuyama Brewing", to Yokohama’s Japanese-style lifestyle brand "Hamamonyo", and "Tokyo Midtown Design Touch", to handling the branding and overall direction for newly opened cheese speciality store "Cheese no Koe" and "Hair Salon Cheery" — Junya works on a diverse range of projects regardless of scale. Recently he worked on signage for Numata Town's Kurashi no Anshin Center.
His work has been recognised through awards such as NY ONE SHOW (Gold and Silver), D&AD The China International poster Biennial (Bronze) , Good Design Award, JAGDA New Designer Award, JAGDA Award, Japan Package Design Association Award, and the Japan Sign Design Association Award, amongst many others. He is also a part time lecturer at Tokai University and Sapporo Otani University.
