The theme of this month is LOVE.
This month we will explore different forms of love through packaging. Romantic love, family love, friend love, work love; love for the planet, love for humanity. Whatever it may be — when LOVE takes on a more tangible form, we are reminded of certain people, or of a memory — through the music we listen to, the food we eat, and the stones we wear on our fingers.
They take on meaning, and whether one is conscious of it or not, LOVE has taken on a symbolic form. LOVE can be found in forms as simple and pure as KINO, a wooden utensil making kit that allows people to come in touch with the trees of Tokyo and their everyday tools; LOVE in the vegetables they grow and the customers they deliver to, like Takashima Fruity Tomato; and in condom packaging BARUNSENGKAK, allowing LOVE to be approachable, seamlessly melding into our everyday.
We are creatures of love, and as LOVE bends and twists and morph into different THINGS — flowers for your partner, a friendship bracelet, a cooked meal for your parents — the products and packaging in the shops also pine for our attention, some of which actually do catch our eye to take on a place in our hearts.
Here may be some that may take place in yours too.
