Masaki Hanahara
Masaki Hanahara is a creative director and graphic designer based in DUMBO, Brooklyn. He began his career at SHISEIDO in 2005 and moved to the U.S. in 2019 as Creative Director for SHISEIDO USA. In 2022, he founded the New York–based design studio SOAR NY, leading global projects across the U.S., Japan, South America, and Asia.
His work has been recognized with the NY ADC Gold Award, The One Show Gold Award, and the JAGDA New Designer Award. He has served as a judge for the D&AD New Blood Awards (2021) and the NY ADC Branding category (2023). In 2019, ten of his posters were acquired by the official collection of the National Museum in Poland. In 2025, he unveiled a 50-foot public mural in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
