A packaging design for a craft gin born in Atami and inspired by the sea.

To express both the cliffs that define Atami’s coastal landscape and the product’s Japanese origin, Watagami, a paper by Takeo, was selected for the package. Special cuts evoke the meeting of sea and cliff, while extensive embossing brings the contours of Atami’s actual terrain to the surface. The embossing creates areas of smoothness that contrast with the naturally rough texture of the paper, allowing the material’s distinctive character to become an integral part of the design.

The craft gin itself was born from the cultural landscape of Atami and the rich variety of botanicals found in the region. Based on the traditional style of London dry gin, it combines 21 botanicals, including Atami-grown bitter orange, the rare local seaweed habanori, and natural juniper from Shirahama Shrine in Izu.

Fresh citrus notes from the bitter orange are layered with herbal and floral aromas and a subtle savoury character derived from seaweed, resulting in a refined and distinctive flavour. In 2026, SEACLIFF STANDARD CRAFT GIN received a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
