Chuhicha (insect frass tea) is a new kind of tea that embodies the mystery and natural cycle of life—created from the droppings of insects that have fed on plant leaves.
“LEPI TRAIL” is a spirit developed using cherry blossom insect frass tea as its base, in collaboration with mitosaya Botanical Distillery. It captures the elegant, sweet aroma transformed through the insects’ internal fermentation after consuming cherry leaves, preserving that fragrant essence in its purest form.
The package design draws inspiration from the name “LEPI” (referring to Lepidoptera, such as butterflies and moths) and “TRAIL” (meaning trace or path). The label features leaf-vein motifs combined with insect-eaten shapes, expressing the mysterious and almost mystical character of Chuhicha, while intuitively evoking the bright, floral impression of cherry blossoms.
For the 2025 package renewal, an outer box was introduced to elevate the product’s premium feel. The box incorporates insect-eaten cutout details, allowing the bottle to be partially visible through the packaging, adding depth and a layered sensory experience to the overall presentation.
