In the historic region of Miwa, Nara, a new culinary hub has emerged: Tenobe Takadaya.
Rooted in a land long known for preserving the craftsmanship of hand-stretched sōmen noodles, the shop offers a refined selection of noodles with varying textures and smoothness. Within this simple yet profound culinary tradition, the depth and elegance of sōmen culture are thoughtfully expressed.
To further expand this world, a line of signature sweets has been introduced at the storefront—most notably, a series of artisanal yōkan (traditional Japanese jelly sweets). From gently flavored varieties using locally grown Nara persimmons, to aromatic creations blending gin and matcha, each piece is crafted with ingenuity to highlight the essence of its ingredients. Just like the sōmen, these sweets embody the Japanese aesthetic of “yohaku” — the beauty of space, subtlety, and restraint, where tradition and innovation meet.
The packaging is designed with equal care—eschewing heavy, conventional forms in favor of translucent colors and quiet elegance, each reflecting the unique character of the ingredients within.
Tenobe Takadaya quietly accompanies everyday life, sharing the beauty of flavors rooted in the landscape and spirit of Nara.
